1631 î fon fils mineur, Louis , étant mort en
1636, le comté fut partagé entre fes deux filles ,
Erneftine 8c Jeannette. La première eut pour fa part
la moitié appellée de Hachenbourg , & fe maria
au comte Salentin-Ernefte de Manderfcheidt. Sa
fille, Madelaine-Chriftine , eut pour mari George-
Louis , bourggrave de Kirchberg, & de ce mariage
naquit George-Frédéric, bourggrave de Kirchberg
j 8c la part du comté de Sayn | appellée
de Hachenbourg , pafla ainfi à la maifon de Kirchberg.
Jeannette -, qui obtint la moitié du comté
de Sayn, appellée Altkirchen, époufa en fécondés
noces Jean-George, duc de Saxe-Eifenach ; les
deux époux firent en 1 685 un teftament, & ils
inftituèrerit pour héritier de leur part féodale 8c
allodiale du comté de Sayn , leur fils cadet, Jean-
Guillaume, & fes defcendans mâles j mais ,en cas
d’extinélion- de fa lignée , le comté devoit pafler
à l'aîné Jean - George £c à fes defcendans mâles
félon le droit de primogéniture. Ils ordonnèrent
de plus, qu’en cas de décès des deux fils fans
poftérité mafculine, le comté fût diyife à portions
égales entre leurs deux filles, Eléonore-
Erdmuth - Louife , ( mariée à un marggrave de
Brandebourg-Onolzbach, ) 8c Frédérique-Elifa-
beth , & dans le cas de prédécès de l’une ou de
l’autre , que toute la moitié appartînt, à la fur-
vivante. Enfin , que fi une de ces deux filles avoit
un fils & l’autre une fille , le fils héritât feul des
pays dont il s’a g it, 8c les tranfmît à fes defcendans
mâles félon le droit de primogéniture. Jean-
Guillaume , duc d’Eifenach, ayant pris l’adminif-
tration de la part du comté de Sayn appartenant
à fa femme, fit (1699) avec fa belle mère , Jeannette
, un nouveau traité qui confirma le teftament
dont on vient de parler. C e teftament avoit déjà
été approuvé par une tranfa&ion de l’année 1697.
Guillaume-Henri, duc de Saxe-Eifenach, fils dp
précédent, 8c dernier pofîefleur du comté de Sayn-
Altkirchen, étant mort en 1741 fans héritier mâle.,
Charles-Guillaume-Frédéric , marggrave de Brandebourg
Onolzbach , fe mit en pofleflion du
comté, d’après le teftament de fa grand’mèrej
quoique la foeur du dernier duc d’Eifenach , Ca-
roline-Chriftine , mariée au landgrave de Heflfe-
Philippfthal , y formât des prétentions fondées
fur le teftament du duc Jean-Guillaume, de 1707^,
8c du duc Guillaume-Henri , de 1736.
Privilèges & prérogatives,
Le marggrave de Brandebourg - (Dnolzbach ,
en qualité de fouverain d’ une partie du comté
de Sayn 3 prend. le titre de comte de Sayn de
Witgenftein. Le bourggrave de Kirchberg fe qualifie
de comte de Sayn & Witgenftein , feigneur
de Farnrode.
