Culture.
La culture du Mangier commun, dans les Indes,
où l'on fait une grande confommation de fes fruits,
fe réduit à planter fes noyaux autour des habi-1
tâtions, & à attendre. Il croît extrêmement vite,
& charge beaucoup. Ses fruits, dont la forme, li!
groffeur, la couleur varient cpnfidérablement,ont|
une faveur acide des plus agréables. On les mange
crus ou confits au vinaigre. Leurs noyaux (ont
d’ufage en médecine.
En Europe on eft obligé de tenir conftamment
le Mangier dans la ferre chaude 3 &c il n’y poulie
jamais vigoureufement. Le changer de^ot, & lui
donner de la nouvelle terre tous les deux ans, ell
indifpenfable. Il ne peut fe multiplier que degraH
nés .tirées de fon pays natal, & femées dans une
bâche dont la température eft tiès-élevée.
Le Mangier pinné ou Mangier de Madagafcari
été reconnu devoir faire partie des M onbins.
