Reverse. In centre of field a small wreath of palm,

attributed the above signature to Kirkwood and Son of Edinburgh (Loc cit.,
I l l , p. 167). In this I think that he has erred, and that it is rather of Kemp-
son and Son of London, or more probably that of Kettle and Sons of Birmingham,
especially as the late Dr. Wm. Fraser o f Dublin wrote me that he was
quite sure that the other signature upon the medal was of Halliday of that
city.
