Les fleurs font blanches & difpofées par verticilles
denfes, munis de beaucoup de braâées lan-
céolées-linéaires , aiguës, ou au moins aufli longues
que les calices, verdâtres, & bordées de
blanc. Ces verticilles font difpofés en épi terminal.
Cette plante croît en Italie, & eft cultivée au

Nepeta incana, foliis lanceolato-linearibus ferru-
latis fubpetiolatis, floribus dense paniculatis,
racemis obtufis. N.
Cette Chataire eft blanchâtre dans toutes fes
parties , & fe diftingue facilement des autres par
fes feuilles étroites , & par fes grappes de fleurs
denfes & obtufes. Sa tige eft haute d’un pied ou.
un peu plus , quarrée , & garnie de beaucoup de
rameaux courts. Ses feuilles font lancéolées-linéai-
res,‘ étroites, dentelées , & à pétioles très-courts.
Les fleurs font blanches , difpofées par petites pani-
cules denfes, fur des pédoncules tres-ramifiés,
quoique fort courts -, elles forment des grappes
terminales, qui font épaiflies &. obtufes à leur
fommet. Cette plante nous a été communiquée par
M. Vahly qui l’a découverte dans l’Aragon, (v. f.)

Sa racine eft compofée de plufieurs tubérofités
fufiformes, longues d’un pouce , brunes en dehors
, & ramaffées en botte de navets ; elle pouffe
des tiges hautes d’un pied & demi, quarrées,
velues, & d’un verd pâle. Ses feuilles font pétio-
îées , en coeur, un peu velues^ & bordées de
groffes dents ou crênelures , comme dans l’Alliaire
( Eryflmum alliaria- L. ) Les verticilles font pédiculés
, forment de longues grappes terminales, &
foutiennent des fleurs gris de lin , à lèvre inférieure
bleuâtre & piquée de pourpre , & à calice
long , tubuleux & ftrié. Tournefort a trouvé cette
plante dans l’Ifle de Candie, (v. f . )
