Les fruits font gros comme des moyennes
Cerifos, ovoïdes , rouges dans leur maturité, à
trois angles obtus & pendans. Cet arbriffeau croît
en Afrique , & eft cultivé au Jardin du Roi , où

C’eft un arbriffeau qui s’élève fur une feule tige
comme un arbre, à la hauteur de huit à douze
pieds , & qui diffère un peu des autres Célafires
par fa fruâification , quoiqu’il en foit voifin par
beaucoup de rapports. Ses rameaux font garnis de
fouilles alternes fouvent rapprochées comme par
bouquets ou prefqu’en étoile, pétiolées, lancéolées
, entières, glabres, & ondulées en leurs
bords. Elles font traverfées. par une nervure blanche
, & ont des Veines finement réticulées en leur
face inférieure. Les fleurs font blanchâtres , terni
irient des rameaux courts & latéraux, & font
difpofées en- bouquets ombelliforme$ dont les
rayons foutiennent de petites ombellules de trois
à lept fleurs. Les pétales font oblongs , obtus &
demi-ouverts •, les étamines font plus courtes que
