, large, ovale-arrondi, & dentelé. Sa tige
eft longue d’un pied & demi, foible, très-ra-
meufe, & ailée par les bafes courantes des feuilles
caulinaires , qui font petites, oblongues & étroites.
Les fleurs font purpurines , terminales, à
fleurons ftériles, lâches & fort grands, & à épines
calicinales petites, tres-foibles, palmées , 8c toujours
redreffées. Cette plante croît dans l’Ifle de
Candie & dans les environs de • Rome : elle eft
cultivée au Jardin du Roi. 0 . ( v. v. ) Le Centaurea
romana de Linné ne nous paroît pas même
une variété de cette efpece.
