Ce Chardon reflemble entièrement au précèdent
far la forme de fes feuilles -, mais elles font tout-
a-fait glabres des deux côtés , & fa tige eft ra-
meufe & pluriflore. Cette tige eft aîlée , glabre,
épineufe ainfi que les feuilles, 8c haute d’environ
un pied & demi. Les fleurs font purpurines, 8c
ont leurs écailles calicinales fétacées , carinées ,
& terminées, par une fpinule. Cétte plante croît
dans les Provinces méridionales de la France : on
3a cultive au Jardin du Roi. (v .v . )
Obferv. Le Carduus carlinoides de M. Gouan
( Illuftr. 6a. t. 23. ) , n’a rien de commun avec
la plante dont nous venons de parler ; nous croyons
que c’eft le Carlina Pyrenaicp. de Linné. Nous
avons oublié de la citer , lorfque nous avons fait
mention de cette Carline.

Cette plante , dont nous n’avons vu qu’un individu
fec dans l’Herbier de M. Thouin, envoyé
par M; l’Abbé Pourret, nous paroît conftituer une
efpèce .aflez aiftinéte. Elle a neanmoins beaucoup
de rapports avec les deux qui-précèdent -, mais
fes feuilles font plus larges, 8c point piquantes.
Sa tige eft (impie, ailée , glabre , & haute d’un
pied. Les feuilles font décurrentes, larges , ovales,
bipinnatifides , glabres des deux côtés , &à
découpures finement ciliées ou bordées de (pinules
■ extrêmement petites. Le pédoncule eft nud ,. terminal,
cotonneux vers fon fommet, & chargé
d’une fleur dont le calice eft glabre, à écailles
étroites & point piquantes. Cette plante croît dans
les Pyrénées. ( v. ƒ. )

Les individus fecs que nous avons vu, avoient
line tige fimple , a peine- longue d’un pied., aîlée ,
crépue comme celle de l’efpèce n°. 5, avec laquelle
celle-ci paroît avoir des rapports, & chargée d’un
peu de duvet lanugineux. Les feuilles étoient tout-
à-fait décurrentes , étroites, finuéesdentées,
épineufes, prefque crépues, chargées d’un duvet
lanugineux fort rare, 8c d’un verd noirâtre. Au
fommet de la tige étoit une aflez greffe fleur purpurine
, à calice non piquant, compofé d’écailles
fétacées un peu lâches. M. Villara obfervé cette
efpèce dans les Alpes des environs de Grenoble.
