Sa tige eff rougeâtre , grêle, dure, pouffe
beaucoup de rameaux redreflés 8c médiocres , 8c
s’élève à la hauteur de trois pieds. Ses feuilles font
étroites-lancéolées , glabres 8c bordées de dents
aiguës un peu diffames. Les fleurs font terminales,
pédonculées, petites ou médiocres, 8c difpofees
en grappes lâches peu alongéës. Elles ont leur
difque d’un jaune pâle , leurs demi-fleurons d’un
pourpre clair ou bleuâtre , 8c leur calice compofé
d’écailles pointues , dont les extérieures l’ont un
peu plus courtes que les autres. Les pédoncules
font munis de feuilles florales , petites, ouvertes
8c nombreufes j les fommités fleuries font un peu
roides & rudes au toucher. Cette plante eff originaire
du Canada, & cultivée au Jardin du Roi.

Cette efpèce nous paroît tout-à-fait diffinguée
dés autres par fon port ; fa tige eff grêle , haute
de trois à quatre pieds y déliée comme un jet
d’ofier dans toute fa longueur , 8c munie de rameaux
très-menus , filiformes , étendus horizontalement
, 8c dont les inférieurs font fort longs.
Ses feuilles fontpetites , étroites-lancéolées , garnies
de quelques dentelures, glabres , 8c d’un
verd brun ou noirâtre. Lès fleurs terminent les
rameaux & la tige , forment des grappes alon-
gées , menues 8c prefqu’én épi. Elles font petites ,
nombreufes , 8c ont leur calice un peu embriqué.
