genre des Conizes. Ses rameaux font cannelés ,
munis de feuilles .alternes, pétioléeselliptiques
ou ovales - oblongues , prefqu’obtufes avec une
très-petite pointe à leur fommet, remarquables
par ttois nervures principales qui régnent dans
leur longueur , 8c par la vifcofitë..dont elles font
enduites dans leur jeuneffeü Les'fleurs font petites
, blanches .,. naiffént en corymbes fameux qui
terminent les branches,, & ne different que médiocrement
de celles de l’efpèce précédente. Cet
arbriffeau croît aux Isles.de France & de Bourbon
, & nous a été communiqué par M. Sonnerat.

de huit à dix pieds dans les .jardins , & dont la
tige . eft droite , rabôtèufe , branchue , & les

laiffé les,anciennes feuilles après leur chùte.' Ses

Les fleùrs viènnent ‘ èri pëtites grappes terminales
fur des- pédôncirlé^1 cannelés & rameux. Les pédoncules
propres ont de petites braélées à leur
bafe. Cette pkhcè-croît naturellement en Ethio-

Les feuilles de cet arbriffeau font petites ÿ
coriaces^ ovales-oblongues, émoufféesouobtufos
à: leur fommet, munies de quelques petites dents
en leurs bords , liffes & un peu veineufos en
deffus , cotonneufes en deffous, & fouvent d’une
couleur un peu.ferrugineufe. Elles ont à peine un
pouce de longueur, 8c font foutenues chacune
par un pétiole long d’une ligne & demie. Les
fleurs viennent par petits bouquets axillaires &
moins ;longs que les feuilles. Leurs calices font
embriqués d’écailles ovales. Cette efpèce croît
au Cap de Bonne-Efpérance , 8c nous a été com-*
