5571. The heath fam ily constitute an extensive assemblage of low shrubby evergreen plants much
valued for the beauty of th eir flowers.andtheblossomingof manyof them in thewinter season Scarcely
any exotic heaths were known in Milleris time, and none of the Ôape species. Almost tho whole of these
were introduced to Europe during the reign of George III., and the greater part by Masson a collector
who made two voyages to Africa a t that king’s expense. ’
