 Hab  S  Africa,  northward  to Bourbon,  Madagascar,  and Natal,—This  and  the  pre-  
 ceding’may  be  known  from  all  the  others  by  having  a  space  between  the  son  ana  
 midrib, which  characterizes Presl’s genus Mesothema.

 Presl places this with species  4,  6,  6, 14,  and 17, in his genus Blechnopsw,  characterized  
 by having a cartilaginous border to  tbe pinnæ which unites the tips ot tbe veins.
