fragile Tayl. in Alack. El. Hib. ii. (1836) p. 109 ; Aludd, Alan,
p. 38.
The thallus is almost stellato-laciniate, with the laciniæ irregularly
arranged and variously divided ; the gonimic granules are rarely iiiouili-
fonii. Witli its radiating laciniæ, it somewhat resembles young states of
Collema multipartitum. In the British specimens the apothecia are only
sparingly present.

brown ; lobes thiokish, slightly rugulose, erect or ascending in tho

This, as observed by Nylander {Leptogium frm um Lich. Scand. p. 34),
resembles X. sinuatum, but the thallus is thicker, very thinly or iiicoii-
spicuoiisly cellulari-corticate. The apothecia, which are scattered, are
not very numerous in our British specimens.
