thick, brownish below, usually villoua. Pileus at first convex, margin involute,
4 in. broad, white, with a pinkish or yellowish tinge.

convex, then plane and depressed, discoid, subpruinose ; margin
at length striate ; stem stuffed, sbort, pallid, bright brown below,

white.

without striæ, rugulose, opaque ; stem stuffed, short, mealy,

Gregarious. Pilens 3-4 lines broad, plano-convex, at length minkled and
depressed, pale rufesoent, the centre darker, nnder a lens clothed with minute
matted silkiness. Gills distant, adnate, sometimes broad behind, whitish
or subrufescent. Margin denticulate. Stem 4-i in. high, .2 hne thick, curved,
fibrillose, with furfuraeeous scales, the base minutely dilated, whitish or sub-
