Generally round, and about the size of a pea, but when growing on the
trunk of « tree sometimes of considerable size and thickness, from many
individuals becoming confluent ; at first pale pruinose, then bright rnst-
coloured, bordering on vermillion, gradually becoming tuberculated, when
