back, and fcapulars, black : on each fide of the head two ftreaks.

thighs, and vent, white : wings brown ; on the cover-ts a band
of white : tail brown ; legs lead-colour..
In the female the colours, are lefs vivid : the head and neck alh-
eolour : the under parts of the body, are paler than the upper,
and a tinge of afh-colour runs through the whole of the
plumage.
This inhabits the Bahama Iftands, Jamaica, and other parts
of the Weft Indies and South Amenta. The manners not known.
