 Root  perennial.  Stems  procumbent,  branched,  solid,  cylindrical, 
  clothed with adpressed silky hairs, about a loot long.  
 Leaves  stalked, ciuinatc;  leaflets oblong-spathulate, mucronulate, 
   slightly  couduplicate,  silky  beneath,  ghdiroiis  and  pale  
 o rceu  above,  an  inch  and  a  half long.  Petioles  an inch or an  
 iiich and  a  half long, nearly  cylindrical, thickened at the base.  
 Stipules  linear,  acute,  silky.  terminal,  solitary, 
 stalked,  many-flowcred,  ovate  or  ovate-ohloiig,  2 or  3  inches  
 lono-  Peduncles  2  or  3  inches  long,  cylindrical  sdky. 
 Uhaclm slightly angular.  Pedicels about 4 lines long, fildomi,  
 silky.  Bractes  lanceolate,  acute,  silky,  membranous,  caducous. 
   Calyx silkv,  about as  long  as the  pedicels,  appendiculale 
   upper  lip  cloven, with  2,  ovate,  acute,  slightly  coloured  
 seoirieiits;  lower  one  twice  longer,  ovate-lanceolate,  acute,  
 enftre,  keeled,  Vexillum orbicular,  slightly emarginate, blue,  
 marked  in  the  centre  with  a  large  pale  yellow  spot  which  
 afterwards  changes  to  a  dull  red.  Wings obovate, ventricose  
 blue,  enclosing  the  keel,  whicli  is  glabrous  and  white,  and  
 split below,  with  a  dark  blue,  elongated  pointed,  incurved  
 apex  Stamens  10,  nioiiadcl])hoiis.  Filaments  awl-sbaped,  
 white,  glabrous,  5 shorter with  linear  anthers,  and  5  longer
