solitarii.
N A R C IS SU S . Perianthium superum, petaloideum, infun-
dibuliforme, limbo sexpartito. Corona faucis campanulata,
integri aut divisi. Stamina tubo inserta, intrà coronam, ipsà
breviora. Stigma trifidum. Spatha l-phylla, latere dehiscens,

Bulb rather small. Leaves several, spreading,
slender, semicylindrical, upper side slightly furrowed,
of a dark green, smooth and glossy, from 9 to 12
inches in length, and ahout a line broad. Scape
smooth, slightly angular, 4 to 6 inches long, 1-flower-
ed. Spatha membranaceous, of a light brown colour,
wrinkled, split on one side, nearly half way down,
ending in a sharpish point, enclosing the germen.
