This pretty herbaceous perennial is a native of Dahuria;
the plant from which our drawing was made, was
raised at the Nursery of Mr. Colvill, in the year 1823,
from seed received from Dr. Fischer; it makes a very
pretty appearance when covered with its numerous little
yellow flowers, and succeeds well in the open ground,
but prefers rather a dryish situation, as too mu'ch moisture
rots its roots; it will also succeed very well in rock-
work, or may be grown in pots, and can then be protected
in a frame, if the weather prove very w e t; the common
garden soil suits it very well, and seeds ripen plentifully,
so that it may be readily increased; those, if sown in
pots, as soon as gathered, and the pots protected in a
frame in Winter, will make flowering plants the next
Autumn. Drawn at the Nursery of Mr. Colvill, in
August last.
