 P. Humei, foliis reniformibus quinquelobis undulatis carti-  
 lagineo-dentatis utrinque pilosis,  stipulis cordato-ovatis  
 subdentatis  villoso-ciliatis,  umbellis 4-5-floris,  petalis  
 obovatis,  tubo  nectarifero  calyce  villoso  subæquali v.  parum breviore.

 Stem shrubby,  erect,  thickly clothed with villous hairs,  
 branching:  branches erect,  or a little  spreading,  villosely  
 hairy,  as are the petioles,  peduncles,  and stipules.  Leaves  
 kidney-shaped,  much  broader than long,  slightly 5-lobed,  
 very much undulate,  rigidly toothed with sharp horny teeth,  
 hairy on both sides,  of  a  lively green  colour,  underneath  
 strongly  3-nerved,  the  nerves  branching.  Petioles  flattened  
 on the upper side and rounded on the lower,  a little  
 thicker at  the  base.  Stipules  broadly cordate  or  ovate,  
 acute,  often toothed,  villous and fringed.  Peduncles  cylindrical, 
   generally 4  or 5-flowered.  Involucre  of 5  or 6  
 bractes,  which are ovate,  acute,  thickly clothed with villous  
 hairs, and fringed.  Pedicles longer than the bractes,  more  
 or less bent, unequally villous.  Calyx 5-cleft,  densely villous  
 ;  segments long,  lanceolate,  acute,  tinged with brown;  
 all erect,  or  the points slightly spreading.  Nectariferous  tube about the length of,  or a little shorter than the calyx,  
 flattened on both sides and gibbous at the base,  of the same  
 colour as the calyx.  Petals 5, all obovate,  the two upper  
 ones broadest, oblique at the base, of a dark purplish crimson, 
  marked from the base with several black lines,  that are  
 more  or  less branched,  2-nerved  at  the  back,  the  nerves  
 branched:  lower petals  of  a lighter  purple, veined with 4  
 redder  veins,  that  are a  little  branched.  Filaments  10,
