the point. Filaments 10, united into a tube, 7 only bearing
anthers. Style purple, hairy at the base, and smooth upwards.
Stigmas 5, purple, the points reflexed.
This very beautiful and distinct plant is a hybrid production,
and is nearer related to P. mucronatum, than to
any other with which we are acquainted. Our drawing was
made from a fine plant at the Nursery of Mr. Dennis, at
Chelsea, in June last. It is of free growth, and a fine
bloomer; and when in full flower makes a grand appearance,
thriving well in any rich light soil, or a mixture of
turfy loam, peat, and sand, will suit it very well. Cuttings
will root readily, planted in pots in the same sort of soil,
and placed on a shelf in the Greenhouse.
