dentibus villoso-hirsutis geniculato-nodosis, foliis corda-
tis quinquelobis truncato-obtusis bullato-rugosis crenatis
utrinque villosis, umbellis multifloris, involucro mono-
phyllo multipartite, petalis distinctis patentibus, calyci-
bus reflexis, tubo nectarifero calyce duplo longiore.

Root tuberous. Stem short, succulent, rugged and uneven,
branches swollen into knots at the joints, not much branched: spreading or ascending, thickly clothed with very
unequal villous hairs,Leaves as is every other part of the plant
except the corolla. cordate, 5-lobed, truncately
obtuse, very rugged or blistered, more or less undulate,
crenate or notched with broad shallow notches, strongly
nerved underneath, of a darkish green on the upper side
and light on the under one, very the numerous villous hairs. Petioles soft to the touch, owing to
nearly cylindrical, or
very slightly Stipules flattened on the upper side, swollen at the
base. small, cordate, acute, undulate and fringed,
partly remaining persistent.Umbels Peduncles axillary,Involucre
much
longer than the leaves. many-flowered. of one leaf, divided into numerous segments, some of which
are ovate, others lanceolate, acute and fringed. Pedicles
about the length of the bractes. Calyx 5-cleft, segments
riferous oblong, obtuse,tube all reflexed from about the middle. Necta
about twice the length of the calyx, slightly
flattened on each side, and gibbous at the base. Petals 5,
distinct, very much spreading, ovate and often 1 -toothed at
the point, the two upper ones rather largest, of a dark
