origin, and has most probably been obtained between
P. Barringtonii and one of the smaller growing sorts; it
is a very abundant bloomer, and continues in flower the
greater part of the year; and as its flowers are produced
in a sort of panicle, a great number of flowers are expanded
at the same time; one great recommendation to it,
is its very early blooming; we this Spring saw several
plants of it in full bloom early in April, when scarcely any
other sort was in flower. Being a free growing hardy sort,
it only requires to be protected from frost in Winter, and
will thrive in any light rich soil. Cuttings, planted in pots,
will soon strike root. It may also be increased by cuttings
of the roots.
