Our drawing of this plant was made in May last, at the
Nursery of Mr. Dennis, at Chelsea. It is a hybrid production,
and appears to be intermediate mium between P. exi- and P. Smithii, or some sorts that are nearly related
to those; it is of free growth, an early bloomer, and produces
a great quantity of flowers, as it is in bloom nearly
all the Summer. It succeeds well in any rich light soil, or
a mixture of light turfy loam, peat, and sand, will suit it
very well, giving it but little water in Winter. Cuttings
root readily, planted in pots in the same sort of soil, and
placed in a shady part of the Greenhouse.
