than usual. Style purple, slightly hairy towards the base,
and smooth upwards. Stigmas purple, the points reflexed.
A strong robust growing plant, of hybrid origin, raised
from seed at the Nursery of Mrs. More, King’s-road, Chelsea,
where our drawing was made last Summer. It is most
probably intermediate between one of volucratum the varieties of P. in- and some other of the strong growing sorts,
and makes a fine appearance when covered with its large
flowers; it is of free growth and easy culture, succeeding
well in any rich light soil, and only requires protection
from frost in Winter. Young cuttings strike root readily,
planted in pots, and placed in a sheltered situation.
