Stem shrabby, erect, branching: branches spreading,Leaves
thickly clothed with spreading, unequal white hairs. cordate, 5-lobed, hollow near the base, unequally and deeply
cut, and toothed with long on both sides, fringed. Petioles sharp rigid teeth, slightly hairy
slender, slightly flattened
on the upper side, and rounded on the lower, clothed with
unequal spreading Stipules white hairs, as are the peduncles, pedicles,
and calyx. broad, cordately ovate, tapering
to Peduncles a sharp point, villous, and ciliate, sometimes toothed. Involucre long and slender, cylindrical, 3 to 5-flowered. Pedicles of 6 or 7 lanceolate, acute, concave, fringed
bractes. longer than the nectariferous tube. Calyx
5-cleft, upper segment broadly lanceolate, acute, keeled,
tariferous erect, the others tube narrowly lanceolate, acute, reflexed. Nec
about half as long again as the calyx, much
flattened on each side, and gibbous at the base. Petals 5,
spreading, obovate; the two upper ones broadest, oblique
near the base, of a pale flesh colour, with a dark purple
spot in the centre, tinged with red, below that and the
base, are numerous purple lines, which are slightly branched;
at the back strongly 2-nerved, the nerves a little branched:
lower petals narrower, pale blush, 4-nerved at the back. Filaments 10, united at the base, 7 bearing anthers: pollen
orange-coloured. Style purple, slightly hairy at the base,
