showy free flowering plant, its panicles of flowers being raised
at such a height above the leaves, which gives it a very conspicuous
appearance. It is also very hardy and a free grower,
and continues in bloom the greater part of the year; a mixture
of light turfy loam and peat, or any light vegetable soil,
will suit it very well; and cuttings of it root freely when
planted in pots, and placed in a sheltered situation.
