This agamoid lizard has been described for the first time
from Nias by Modigliani.
The specimen collected at Pulu Nako, an island near the West
coast of Nias, closely resembles th at description, but differs
somewhat in length. It measures 213 m.m., of which 151
m.m. for the tail. The hind limb, pressed against the body,
surpasses the snout by half the fourth toe. The body is
brown with a dark er transverse streak on the shoulder; the
head from the tip of the snout to behind the eye is also
dark brown.
Distribution. Nias, Pulu Nako, Sipora, Sumatra, Borneo.

The male specimen has a high nuchal and lower dorsal
crest. It is olive-brown, flanks spotted with w h ite ; tail banded
with d ark brown. The female has a small nuchal crest and
a ridge indicates the dorsal one. Its colour is light brown, back,
limbs and tail with dark cross-bands; flanks spotted with
light brown.
Distribution. Burma, Malacca, Nias, Sipora, Sumatra, Borneo.
