quills and tail cinereous brown, edged with grey ; the two outer
feathers have a white fpot on the indde, near the tips : legs
brown.
This is met with at Jamaica and St. Domingo.

Description, g I Z E of the Pettichaps. Bill dulky; plumage above, cinereous
blue, fpotted with black: crown and rump yellows
ddes of the head and throat whitilh : through the eyes a black
band : fore part of the neck and upper part of the bread black,
mixed with cinereous blue : fides of the bread yellow, fpotted
with black: the red of the under parts white; but the ddes havé
a few black fpots : wing coverts and quills blackilh ; acrofs the
fird two white bands ; the lad edged with grey : tail the fame,
but the inner webs of the three outer feathers marked with a fpot
of white : legs blackilh.
Female. The female is rufous brown above ; wants the black mark ’
through the eyes ; and has no black fpots on the bread.
Place. Inhabits Penfylvania.
- Migrates fouth in autumn.
