dense tectus, radiculis filiformibus tomentosis fibrillosis instructus. Frondes 4-6 pollicares (fere ad
pedalem). Pinnæ remotæ, patentes, inferiores bipinnatæ, superiores pinnatæ, pinnulis inferioribus trifolio-
latís; foliola bilinearia, ovata, obtusa, petiolata, supra nervosa, margine revoluta, caduca. Stipes 2-4-polli-
caris, teres, crassitie chordæ raediocris, paîeis sparsis obsitus. Raches partiales tenuissimæ, fragiles. Indu-
sium breve.” Kaulfuss.— A very distmct and well-marked species.

Stem slender, * a line lo a line in diameter, compressed, smooth, 1 2 inihos long or more, furnished vrith
alternate much divided branches, at distances of an inch or upwards ; the branehos pinnated, the lower p.nnm
simple or forked, the upper mullifld in a sub-dichotomons manner , all the axils rounded and the ramuh erect,
apices attenuated. Vesicles as large as vetch-seed, 4 -1 2 or more together, forming a moniliform cham, .m-
