This, which certainly belongs to De Candolle’s genus Blumea, (see Wight’s Contrib. p. 13, and Guille-
min’s Arch, de Bot. 2. p. 514,) is perhaps Baccharis Chinensis, Lour., but Lourciro’s description does not
quite accord. It is Vachell’s n. 202.
ANISOPAPPUS. (Hook, et Arn.).
Capitulum radiatum, heterogamum ; floribus femineis uniserialibus in ambitu corollas
ligulatas gerentibus. Achenium conforme, lineare, tetragonum, exalatum, erostre, paleis
compluribus brevtbus inæqualibus setisque quatuor multo longioribus inter se inæqualibus
coronatum. Rachis dense bracteolatum. Stylus disci ramis apice obtusis inappendicu-
latis. Antheræ basi bisetosæ.— He rb a erecta, dense puberula, Jbliis alternis oblongo-linearibus
obtuse dentato-serratis, ramis fo r ig e r is monocephalis subterminalibus corymbosis,
involucri foliolis linearibus numerosis imbricatis pubescenti-tomentosis.

This approaches in character to Buphthalmum, but has the habit of Verbesina.
Adenophora Sinensis, as we consider it to be, of the Order Campanulaceoe, is in the collection from
Mr. Vachell; and Lobelia Chinensis, Lour., (but with the leaves slightly toothed) in that from Mr. Millett.
