Puella'ris — girlish, delicate.
Pileus, except the disc, membranaceous, conically convex, then
flattened or depressed, striate to the margin and tuberculose
(1 -1 -^ in. diam.), livid purplish, becoming yellowish, disc brown,
always darker, stem soon hollow ( 1 - 1 ^ in. long), white, becoming
yellowish ; gills attenuated behind,' adnate, thin, crowded, naked,
