here given, and that in the Ilfgnc Animal of Cuvier. The classification
adopted by Cuvier in the Leeons d’Anatomie Comparee was that mainly followed in
tlie first attempts at arrangement of the Museum, and it has been since found impossible
so far to deviate from the first plan as to assimilate it completely to the changes which
