This pretty double variety is well worth cultivating,
and thrives well in rock-work, or planted in the border
of the flower, garden, if in a light soil, and not too
moist; it then grows very strong, and attains a good
size, making a large bushy tuft; its flowers are also
then very large, much larger than those in our figure,
which was taken from a plant grown in a pot; it is
quite hardy, and continues to bloom nearly all the
Summer : young cuttings, planted under hand-glasses
in August or September, strike root readily.
Our drawing was made from a plant at the Nursery
of Mr. Colvill; we also received it from the Nursery
of Messrs. Whitley, Brames, and Milne, at Fulham.
