This pretty little annual plant is a native of Spain,
Italy, and other countries in the South of Europe. It
only requires to be sown in the open borders of the
Flower Garden, and to be kept free from weeds ; the
seeds should be sown in March, or the beginning of
April; the plants will then flower abundantly, and
ripen plenty of seeds.
Our drawing was made at the Apothecaries’ Company’s
Garden, at Chelsea, last Summer.
