very little Ihort of eight inches in length, it can fcarcely be a variety
o f the Bulfincb, which does not meafure fix. This fpecimen
was caught at Vpfal, in Sweden, alive, and was kept a whole year
in a cage, but did not alter the colour during the time o f its confinement.

brown : the crown o f the head, hind part o f the neck, fpace
between the fhoulders, and upper wing coverts, teftaceous brown:
the under parts of the body brownifh white : the quills and tail
black, and all the feathers o f both tipped with white; the tail a
trifle forked at the end : fhins yellowifh : feet black.
P l a c e . Found in the Hottentots country, in the neighbourhood o f the
Cape of Good Hope. It is met with alfo in India, as I find it,
with very little difference, among the drawings o f Lady Impey.
It is known in the laft place by the name of Totty.
