j ^ E N G T H feventeen inches. Bill black: general colour of
the plumage on the upper parts green; crown inclining to
blue s
blue; the rump to yellow : the fore part o f the neck dulky alh-
colour: bread and belly yellow green : between the legs of a
deep crimfon approaching to chefnut; quills blue, fringed on the
outer edges with green: tail greatly cuneiform j the two middle
feathers eight inches lon g ; all the feathers o f a yellow green, with
chefnut fhafts : legs black.
I faw this among a colleftion which came from Cayenne, perhaps
the female o f that before defcribed.

^J^HIS variety differs merely in having five or fix fpots o f red
tipped with yellow on the fcapulars and inner bend o f the
wing, and the blue bounded with reddilh at the nape.
I obferved it among the drawings o f Colonel Davies.
J Saw this among fome C'hinefe drawings, where it was named
Ue Jhek uang.

are one and the fame. The conjedtures o f a friend on this
head lead me to think f o ; but Mr. Du Pratx’s imperfedt de-
fcription of the laft muft ever leave conjedture tofupply the place
o f fad! j nor has Mr. de Buffer, been able to fupply the deficiency,
taking it up only on the authority o f the firft deferiber.
