P. anacampton, foliis cordatis acutis obsolete quinque-
lobis undulatis rugosis ineequaliter dentatis utrinque
molliter hirsutis : superioribus basi cuneatis, stipu-
lis lato-lanceolatis acuminatis, umbellis plurifloris,
bracteis pedicellis longioribus, tubo nectarifero ca-
lyce reflexo duplo longiore, stylo basi sub-hirsuto.
Stem frutescent, erect, branched: branches clothed
with unequal, spreading, villous hairs, as are the petioles,
peduncles, stipules, bractes, and calyx. Leaves
cordate, acute, somewhat hollow on the upper side,
slightly five-lobed, undulate, rugose, unequally toothed
with broad acute teeth, thickly clothed with short hairs
on both sides, very soft to the touch, strongly nerved
at the back, the nerves branched. Petioles flattened a
little on the upper side and convex on the lower,widened
a little at the base. Stipules lanceolate, taper-pointed,
broad at the base; the upper ones much broader than
the lower ones, generally oblique, sometimes toothed. Umbels several-flowered. Peduncles cylindrical, erect
when the flowers are expanded. Involucre of 6 broadly
lanceolate, taper-pointed, keeled bractes. Pedicles not
so long as the bractes. Calyx 5-cleft, of a brown purple
; the segments all reflexed; upper one broadest and
ovate, the others lanceolate. Nectariferous tube about
twice the length of the calyx, flattened on each side,
and gibbous at the base, tinged with purple. Petals 5,
of a bright rose-colour; the two upper ones broadest,
obovate, very unequal-sided, marked with a dark vel-
vetty brown spot in the centre, and numerous dark lines
