PELARGONIUM bipinnatifidum.
Bipinnatifid-leaved Stork’s-bill.
P. bipinnatifidum, subcaulescens adscendens ramosa, ra-
mis nodoso-geniculatis pubescentibus, foliis inæqua-
liter bipinnatifidis scabro-pubescentibus; segmentis
linearibus obtusis obtuse inciso-dentatis, stipulis
cordatis mucronatis, umbellis plurifloris, pedicellis
bracteis subæqualibus, segmentis calycinis oblongis
obtusis mucronulatis, tubo nectarifero calycè sub-
duplo longiore, stylo hirsute.
Stem sufFrutescent at the base, lengthening out into
herbaceous branches, that are knotted at the joints,
clothed with numerous very short hairs, ascending, or
not strong enough to support their own weight without
the assistance of a stick. Leaves doubly pinnatifid, with
numerous small leaflets intermixed amongst the large
ones, thickly clothed on both sides with short stiff hairs,
which makes it very rough to the touch: leaflets and
segments linear, obtuse, more or less jagged or toothed
with blunt segments or teeth, of a palish green colour,
the leaf-stems winged between the leaflets. Petioles
flattened a little on the upper side and rounded below,
thickened and widened a little near the base, clothed
with short stiff hairs, as are the peduncles, bractes,
calyx, and nectariferous tube. Stipules broadly cordate,
terminated in a short mucrone. Umbels many-flowered. Peduncles cylindrical, stiff, axillary or sometimes opposite
to a leaf. Involucre of several bractes, that are
ovate, keeled, and terminated abruptly into a sharp
point, imbricated over each other. Pedicles variable in
length, some about the length of and others much longer
