the species  is still  far  from common.  It generally  forms part  
 of  the  American  border,  requiring  a  peat  soil;  and  is  increased  
 by parting the roots, which, however, should be  done  
 but  seldom;  for unless the  plant  is strong it  rarely blossoms.
