 TH IS   Bird  was  about  the  bignefs  o f  the  red  L in n et;  
 its  Bill is ihort  and  thick,  o f a dusky Colour,  the Iri-  
 des o f the Eyes white;  the Head and hind part o f the Neck  
 o f a  blewifh  Purple ;  the  Back  green,  the  fcapular and covert  
 Feathers o f the Wings  are  a Mixture  o f yellow  and  
 green. 
 T h e  Quills of the  outer part  o f the Wing  are  o f a  dark  
 purpliih  red,  the  upper  Quills  red,  with  a  Mixture  of  
 green;  the Throat,  Breaft,  Belly and Thighs o f a  bright  
 Scarlet;  the Tail  was  made  up  o f  twelve  Feathers,  of a  
 dufky  red  Colour;  the  Legs and  Feet  yellow.  I  faw  this  
 Bird  in  the  Poifeffion  o f  a  curious  Gentleman,  who told  
 me  it  was  brought  from  China,  and  Called  it  the  China  
 Bull-Finch.
