He a t h , with erefied tips, within the bloffom;
the flowers grow in bunches, nodding, all pointing
one way, nearly egg-lhaped, and of a pale
flefh colour; leaves growing by fours.
D E S C R I P T I O N .
S t e m fhrubby, upright, and grows a foot high ;
the branches arc almoft Ample, upright, and
fpreading.
Le a v e s grow by fours, linear, blunt, channelled
beneath, and roughifh; having very ihort
foot-ilalks prefled to the branches.
F l o w e r s grow in bunches, at the end of the
branches, nodding; the foot-ftalks are long and
coloured, with three linear floral-leaves on them.
Em p a l e m e n t . Cup of four leaves, which
are fmall, awl-fhaped, fringed, and coloured.
Bl o s s o m , nearly egg-fhaped, of a pale flefhcolour;
the tegmenta of the border tapered, and
nearly upright.
Ch i v e s . Eight hair-like threads, bent downward
on the inner fide. Tips crefled, and within
the bloffom.
P o i n t a l . Seed-bud turban-fliaped, and channelled.
Shaft cylindrical juft within the bloffom.
Summit oblcurely four-cornered.
Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
