S t e m flirubby, grows a foot high, upright, and
thrcad-fhaped; thb greater and linallcr branches
arc thread-fliapcd, twiggy, and fmooth.
Le a v e s grow by fours, linear, narrow, fmooth,
and upright; very fhort foot-fialks, preflcd to
the branches.
FLOWERS grow mofrly folitary, at the end of
the fmaller branches, hanging down; the footfialks
are coloured, having three awl-fhapeil,
coloured floral leaves on them.
Em p a l e m e n t . Cup four-leaved, leaflets eggfhaped,
pointed, concave, prelled to the bloffom,
and coloured.
Bl o s s o m , globularly bell-ihaped, and yellow;
the fegments half egg-fhaped, and a little reflexed.
CHIVES. Eight hair-like threads, curved inwards.
Tips beardlcfs, and within the bloiTom.
