HEATH, with bearded lips, within the bloflbm ;
the fluff without; the bloflbms bell-fhaped and
while; flowers grow in bunches, pointing all
one way, nodding and very fwcet; leaves grow
by fours, linear and rough.
D E S C R I P T I O N .
S t e m (hrubby, growing a foot high, the larger
and fmaller branches grow upright, of an alh
colour, downy and harm.
Le a v e s grow by fours, linear, obtufe, a
little hairy, roughifh and fpreadiug; with very
fhorl foot-ftalks, prclfed to the branches.
F l o w e r s grow on the upper branches in
loofe Ipikes, pointing one way, nodding and in
bunches; the foot-ftnlks very lhort, having
three fmall floral leaves.
EmpAl k m b n t . Cup of four leaves, which
arc tapered, very fhort, fmooth and prellcd to
the blofTom.
Bl o s s o m , bcll-fhapcd, fmall, fweet-fecnted,
and white; the tegmenta upright, with the points
a little bent outwards.
Ch i v e s . Eight hair-like threads, curved at
the end. Tips bearded, and within the bloffoin.
P o i n t a l . Seed-bud nearly globular and furrowed.
