upright, and by fours; the leaves of the cup are
fkinny at the edge, and fawed as if torn,
DESCRIPTION.
STEM fhrubby, a fpan high, upright, and
branching; fmaHer branches numerous, and
nearly upright.
LEAVES grow by fours, linear, fmooth, thickifh,
mining, and fpreading out; with very fhort footftalks.
FLOWERS fit clofe in upright bunches, by
fours, on the ends of the branches; fcarcc any
foot-ftalks.
EMPALEMENT. Cup double, the outer Urreeleaved,
which are awl-fhaped, having the edges
lkinny, and fawed as if torn ; the inner has four
leaves, which are longer than the others; the
points fiefh-coloured, and pretfed to the bloflbm.
BLOSSOM bellied out, and pellucid, the mouth
narrowed, without of a pale red, white within ;
the fegmcnts nearly heart-fhaped, fpreading, and
very large.
CHIVES. Eight hair-like threads. Tips bcard-
Iefs, within the bloffom.
POINTAL. Seed-bud turban-fhaped, flightly
furrowed. Shaft juft without the bloffom, and
thread-fhaped. Summit four-cornered.
Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
Flowers from February till June.
