I I EATH, whofe tips have two horns at their bafe,
and within the bloiToms, which are extremely
long, clammy, furrowed, of an Inch and a half
in length, the fegments large, and heart-fhaped ;
the leaves grow by fours.
D E S C R I P T I O N .
The STEM, as well as the larger and fmallcr
branches, arc thread-fhaped, and fupple; the
branches arc fimple, and long.
The LEAVES grow by threes, fpreading out at
the end, lawed, fharp-pointed, thick and furrowed
underneath.
The FLOWERS grow at the fummit of the
branches, three in a bunch, and upright; the
foot-ftalks are very long, and purple, having
three coloured floral leaves.
EMPALEMENT. Cup four-leaved, which are
fpathula-ihapcd, thick, clammy, blunt at their
ends, and hollow without.
The BLO SSOM is an inch and a half long, channelled,
and linear, fwelled at the end, and narrowed
at the mouth; the fegments of the border
are very large, and expanded; of a light flefh
colour on the outfide, white witliin.
Ch i v e s . Eight hair-like threads twilled; tips
two'horned at their bafe, the points horned, and
within the bloflbm.
POINTAL. Seed-veffcl oblong, and furrowed;
the fhaft itraight, thread-ihaped, purple, and
without the blofTom ; fummit four-cornered.
Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
Flowers from July, till October.
