DESCRIPTIO.
CAULIS crcelus, laxus, lililbrmis, fufeus; rami
filiformes, villofi; ramuli capillares, fréquentes,

pilis longis birta; petiolis brcviflimis, adpreflis.

HEATH, with beardlcfa tips, juft within the bloffbms,
which are globular, white and downy, being
covered with a large, hairy, coloured cup ;
leaves grow by threes, and are hairy.
D E S C R I P T I O N .
STEM upright, weak, thread - fhaped, and
brown; branches thread-fhaped, and hairy; fmall
branches like hairs, numerous, and down;-.
LEAVES grow by threef, linear,blunt, furrowed
at the back, and covered with long, barfh hairs;
foot-lialks very fhort, and preflcd to the branches.
FLOWERS grow at the extremity of the fmaller
branches, by twos or threes, fpreading out, and
nodding; foot-lialks very fhort, baring three fmall
floral leaves, which arc preflcd to the bloflbm.
EMPALKMKNT. Cup of lbur'lea\cs, which are
egg-fhaped, concave, turned inwards, very large,
quite covered with ftrong hairs, preflcd to the
blofl'oms, and of a yellow-green.
BLOSSOM nearly globular, white and woolly,
almofl bid within the cup.
CHIVES. Eight hair-like threads, fixed into
the receptacle. Tips beardlcfs, and nearly within
the bloflbm.
POINTAL. Seed-bud nearly round, and hairy
at the end. Shaft thread-fhaped, and without
the bloflbm. Summit four-cornered.
Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
