HEA TH, with bcardlcfs tips, within the blolToms,
which are fwelled at the lower part, growing
lingly at the bale of the leaves, andwhttifh; the
leaves grow by threes, and are three-fided.
D E S C R I P T I O N .
STEM fhrubby, grows a foot high, upright,
branching, and flender; the branches are fimple.
LEAVES grow by threes, are three-fided, linear,
iharp-pointed, fmooth, flightly furrowed
on the under part, and upright; the foot-fialks
are prefTed to the ftem.
The FLOWERS grow from the bottom of the
foot-ffalks of the leaves, fingly, are bent downward,
and whitiih ; llie foot-ffalks are curved,
and whitiih.
EMPALEMENT. Cup of four leaves, which
are coloured, iharp-pointed, and prefTed to the
bloflbm.
BLOSSOM fwelled at the lower part, and ftraitened
at the mouth; the border is four-lobed;
fegtncnts equal, pointed, and rolled back.
Chives. Eight hair-like threads, which are
bent, and fixed into the receptacle. Tips beardlefs,
within the bloflbm.
POINT A L. Seed-bud turban - lhaped, and
fmooth. Shaft linear, curved, and jnfl without
the blolfom. Summit four-cornered.
Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
