HEATH, with creftcd tips, within the blofTom;
the leaves grow by fours, are harfh, and of a
whitiih green; the flowers are globular, in
bunches, and are, as well as their cups, purple.
D E S C R I P T I O N .
STEM ihrubby, upright, a foot and a half high,
and very branching; the branches arc harfh, upright,
and twilled.
Le a v e s grow by fours, are of a whitiih green,
and bent inwards, furrowed beneath, inflexible,
and (lightly tawed at the edge.
FLOWERS grow at the ends of the branches,
mofily by fours, in bunches, and nodding; the
foot-ftalks are long, and purple, having three
floral leaves.
E m p a l e m e n t . Cup four-leaved, which are
egg-ihaped, keeled, and preffed to the blofTom.
BLOSSOM globular, purple, and fquarcd at the
bafe; the border four-lobed, the fegments of
which are upright, and equal.
Ch i v e s . Eight hair-like threads fixed into
the receptacle; the tips crefted, and within the
blofTom.
POINTAL. Seed-vefTel globular, large, and
furrowed; the fhaft nearly without the blofTom,
tapering from the bafe; the fununit four-cornered.
Native of the Cape of Good Hope.
