Stem short, erect, below thickly clothed with fibroso-
tomentose roots.
Leaves somewhat rigid, the lower ones smaller, the
upper ones gradually larger* all of them patent,
ovate, brownish green, furnished with a deeper-
coloured nerve which terminates in a short sharp
point beyond the apex; the margins recurved.
Fruit-stalk much exserted, erect or a Tittle curved.
Capsule globose, ferruginous; Operculum or Lid co-
