This handsome Fe rn, lik e its ally Gymnogramma Ceterach, has been placed in various genera,
according to th e views o f different B o tan ists in regard to its fructification'. The one, indeed, to
which we have referred it, difters from G ratnmitis rather in its habit and more divided fronds than
in its sori, and is scarcely tenable.
The species wc believe to he wholly confined to the southern extremity o f Africa.
